Augmented reality and real time localization

This programme aims at building a computerized, interventional radio-surgical platform dedicated to research in big animals (thus compatible with the transfer of the results to human patients in the future), according to the best available standards.

The superposition of images from inside the organs and from the pathological areas will be displayed in real time thanks to the augmented reality and this will allow the surgeon to optimize his/her surgical technique: choice of entry route, of trajectory, avoidance of «vital» or « vulnerable » structures, optimization of the resection margins, tissue sparing, targeting.

Equipment : Perioperative ultrasonography, Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) and other image acquisition systems, real time image registration software
